Nov 21, 2018

When you walk to school, do you ever feel like your school bag is too big, heavy and crammed full of books? How heavy is your school bag? Experts say the children should carry no more than 10-15% of their bodyweight. That means a child who weighs 50kgs, their school bags should be 5-7.5kg and no more. Any more and they will being set up for spinal problems later in life.

This is the history problem and most of school banned school bags in class because of health and safety reasons in the recently years. As the school think that younger children were getting injured by large and heavy school bag. Carrying heavy weighted and oversize school bag full of heavy books can cause young children to develop serious spinal deformities that was agreed by many people.

The health charity organization says the weight of books and bags are dangerous for children and can lead to back problems in their later life. And the experts said that by carrying heavy school bags children are developing forward head posture as they are hinging forward at the hips to compensate for the heavy weight on their back. This strains the muscles and in turn pushes the body to go into an unnatural posture alignment.

While children might not show symptoms or experience pain straight away, in the long term they are developing imbalances in the body which can affect the health of the nervous system.
